There are two types of assignments that you request from your students. Writing assignments and annotation assignments. Create a writing assignment for students to submit a piece of writing to your class.
These can be added as general class assignments or added directly into a lesson.

Add assignment to a class
1. Go to your Assignments page.
2. Click the New Assignment button.
Add an assignment as part of a Lesson
1. Go to your Lessons tab.
2. Click on the lesson title to enter the lesson.
3. Make sure you are in Edit Mode.
4. Click the Add Assignment button.
Set up a writing assignment
1. Select Writing Assignment.
2. Add a title and description for your assignment.
3. Set a start date (when you want the assignment to be visible to your students).
4. Click Add Assignment.
5. You have the option to specify a word count and mark the assignment as optional.
📝Note: When selecting "optional", students will still be notified about the assignment. However, once the due date has passed, student will no longer be reminded that they need to submit work.
6. Select if you want the same due date for all students or a staggered schedule.
7. Select if you require Critiques.
If critiques are required, you will be asked to select critique distribution and visibility.
You are even able to remove selected students from giving feedback while using the selective distribution.
💡Tip: Wet Ink will automatically save your progress. You can exit when you are finished and your assignment will be shown on the Assignment page.
